Risk Expo 2007Members of Epiphany's Organisational Resilience, Global Outsourcing, and Professional Services divisions combined with Helen Thorton of Royal Sun Alliance to present 'BCM Performance and Benefits' at Risk Expo 2007 (London Excel Centre 28/29th March 2007).
Leading the presentation, Wayne Harrop B.A Hons, MBCI, MEPS, MIEM, MICDDS, a world Authority on the development of combined approaches to Risk Management, Business Continuity, and Crisis Management examined the origin and evolution of BCM, the lead up to and arrival of BS25999, and progressed on to consider some of the challenges Business Continuity faces, along with the detailed considerations for the future development of BCM as a discipline.
Wayne then presented his 'Integrated Resilience Model' (IRM) as an insight into cutting edge thinking in the field of organisational resilience. The IRM achieves the successful unification of Risk, Continuity, and Crisis Management into a single 'joined up' framework. Wayne explained; "Integrated Resilience is the natural evolution for Risk, Continuity, and Crisis Management professionals. Employing a singular framework through which to deliver essential safeguards to the organisation makes sense. It simplifies the processes, reduces cost, reduces duplication, conflict, and provides easier communication and transparency to Board members".
Directors from Epiphany's Marketing and Outsourcing divisions offered working examples of how Integrated Resilience has been successfully implemented across Epiphany operations (and combined as part of a larger cross functional approach) to deliver measureable business benefits, enabling Epiphany to gain competitive advantage in its marketplace.
The overall theme of the presentation pointed out that there are clear competitive benefits to be gained from implementing BS25999, and that these benefits extend far beyond the typical arguments about organisational resilience.
Robert Morton, EMEA Development Director for Epiphany Global Sourcing explained; "BS25999 offers real competitive benefits for organisations. BS25999 will be used by procurement specialists as a standard to determine those suppliers that have an independenly verifiable BCM program and those that don't. Increasingly, those that don't will lose out on opportunities. For Epiphany, the cost of implementing BS25999 would be measured in the thousands, whilst the opportunities we go after are measured in the tens of millions, so for organisations like ours BS25999 makes financial sense".

Epiphany - Knowledge : Clarity : Revelation : Direction : ResultsSpirit of SportEpiphany Delivers Sporting Revelation
Standing a third taller than the Angel of the North, the Spirit of Sport celebrates the often overlooked relationship between UK grass root sports and the emergence of British sporting heroes. Recognised as the tallest piece of public art in the UK (developed by public consultation), the project ran into financial difficulties in the summer of 2005.
Located on the approach to the Reebok Stadium on the outskirts of Bolton, the Spirit of Sport was designed by leading artists Eaton Waygoode Associates and joint funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA.
Despite ERDF and NWDA support, the project still encountered a sizeable funding shortfall, which leds to concerns over where the project could actually be delivered. This situation drew the attention away from it being a worthwhile project and began to generate less supportive media coverage.
Epiphany was brought in to address the shortfall through private sector sponsorship. We developed a comprehensive project plan to make up the shortfall, resolve the negative media situation, and generate positive public and media support.

Within 3 months Epiphany delivered high profile sponsors: Hitachi, Reebok, Bolton Wanderers, and Emmerson, along put together a communications program that delivered more than £750,000 in positive Television, Radio, and Newspaper coverage (of the installation process alone).

The trophy like sculpture carries 900 stainless steel tiles, each etched with the image of sports men and women from a mix of Grass Root and National Sports. Among the most recognisable are Olympic boxer Amir Khan, Bolton Wanderers Manager Sam Allardyce, and 1966 World Cup Hero Sir Alan Ball. Sitting alongside them are the faces of coaches, linesmen, grounds men, umpires, referees and other such officials and participants all nominated by the public as contributors to British grass root sports.

The Spirit of Sport has it's official Launch celebration in April 2007. The Launch ceremony will commence the program designed to generate funding for grass root sports and promote inclusive sporting participation across all communities.
Epiphany - Proud to be associated with the Spirit of SportWigan & Greater Manchester 1 Billion Pound Landfill SolutionAugust 2008
Epiphany appointed as key project advisors for a £1 Billion, EU driven waste treatment programme.
Epiphany have been appointed by Wigan Council to support their project team in the search for a solution to landfilling across the borough. The project, which could culminate in a tie up with the Greater Manchester Waste Disposal Authority (GMWDA) is anticipated to be worth around £1 Billion pounds and is expected to see investment made into an alternative solution to the landfilling of regional waste.
The project has arisen out of European Union legislation seeking to reduce the amount of waste disposed of via landfilling. Stiff fines imposed as a result of a failure to meet EU waste targets could see councils across the UK facing potentially tens of millions in annual fines
The project, which brings together the combined expertise of Epiphany, Deloitte, and waste specialists ENTEC is expected to deliver its recommendations by March 2009.
